WOYWW 137

Today, my desk is pretty clean. I am starting to work on a layout of my daughter from the spring. I have the general layout going, need to glue things down and start some embellishing. If you have some time, hop on over to the Stamping Ground and see what's on people's desk across the globe.

This card is part of my 52 weeks of cards challenge. So far, I am three for three. I am going to try and post these on Wednesdays if at all possible. I am also trying to keep these simple, but I can't help but be drawn to the sewing machine. I love the look of the tone on tone hearts sewn on the bottom.

Card #2

Thanks for visiting!

Your desk looks fabulously clean! And your card is so cute! I love the stitching! I really wish I could get along with a sewing machine! LOL!

Love the stitching on your card! I'm going to attempt showing my desk next week. *Maybe* it will be a little cleaner!

Really nice! I really like that stitching, it even reminds me of a "heart" monitor :) I would love to learn how to stitch on my layouts. I'm not a great seamstress, but I should at least *try* ... :) Great job!

Tanya, I didn't even think about the stitching resembling a heart monitor. That is great thinking! And I am not a seamstress by any means, I just love to sew on paper.

Hi Dani,
You asked what I am going to do with the 2x2 canvases. I took an e-course and one of the projects was making Christmas ornaments with canvas -- acrylic paints and designed paper. They were so much fun. I only made two for Christmas presents and really want to get started and make more for a Craft Fair that I'm in November. I have other ideas too - so may experiment a bit.

Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate all comments!!!!

Hugs,

I love sewing on cards but if I break out the machine, the hubby breaks out with lots of mending. Ick! Your desk is poised for play!

And to think I thought I was a clean crafter! Haha! I love how you straight and zig zagged stitched on the card. So cute!

That is such a lovely fresh card, but with so many different elements all working together. I agree with the others, that tone on tone technique works so well. Thank you for your visit to me, and your kind comments. Maggie #70

Thanks Brenda, they are acrylic. I like that they are clear so it doesn't feel like it takes up a lot of space and besides, I may have knock one down once or twice, so they don't break. lol... Glass wouldn't work for me!

Just managing to make it round to the few desks i missed (left it to the last minute its Tuesday now) didn't realise how much time it took leaving messages for people rather than just peeking at desks! But glad i made it to yours your desk is lovely all neat and tidy and ready to go, the card is really pretty - the stitching reminds me of a heart monitor too, a cute idea, so the 52 card challenge do you make a card each week and give them to your Godchild or save them all and give them at the end of the year (for next years use) ??? Whichever is a lovely idea i bet she is pleased. Lou #94

Lou, I am making one simple card a week and sending that one out the next week. So the card I show on Wednesday, gets mailed out on Monday. She moved away this summer and is having a difficult time, so I was hoping this would help.
