WOYWW 159 on Tuesday

Since the post is already up at the Stamping Ground, I have decided to add mine early. I have so missed playing along each week. It is great to be back!

As you can tell, my pretty yellow work desk has been pushed to the back wall, so that my hubby could make me a standing height table. Due to my back issues, standing is the way I have to craft for now. My dh took down my stacked cubbies and made a mock up of that famous Pottery Barn table. Since I had to push it against a wall, he turn one of the cubbies to the inside of the desk. This is where I store rarely used materials. I still use the yellow desk for sewing, since this is something that I can do rather quickly and not have to sit for a long time. And let me clarify, it is sewing on paper that I mostly do, not fabric.

Tonight, I am working on a layout from my daughter's homecoming, but below are two cards that I made earlier today. Both cards are quick ones, of course, with machine stitching.

Have a happy humpday!

Dani

Lovely cards and I think your desk looks wonderful. I know what you mean about having to stand it gets harder to get up and down the whole time.

Hi Dani! Thanks for stopping by and leaving such nice words about the Father's Day card I made. You're so sweet!

Sounds like you've almost had a whole craft room makeover! That's awesome! Sorry it's because of a bad back though :( I've had a ruptured disc for about 17 years that periodically acts up, so I totally sympathize with you. Hopefully, you will be as good as new soon!

love the cards, and your huge desk! I wish I could craft sitting at a desk let alone standing, but space forces me on the floor and very uncomfortable it is too...!! Have a good week, Helen 33

I actually prefer to craft standing up; weirdly it gives me more energy. But then I'm weird! I really like your cards, the second one especially. It's such a simple design, but the composition and colours and stitching turn it into a little work of art. Brilliant.

Those cards are lovely - gorgeous doily shapes on the first one. I like the re-organisation of your desk thanks for the opportunity of having a peep at your workspace - trying to make a few visits early this week! Hazel, WOYWW #87 x

What a brilliant idea that stitching on cards is - love the bottom one. Is it fabric or paper strips?
So sorry to hear about your back problem but glad your dh could help out so much. It looks fabulous now and you have so much room. Envious room!
Thanks for sharing - Hugs, Neet #21 xx

I'd love to stitch on cards, never tried that yet but it looks so good. Glad to hear that you are still able to craft, the standing up desk sounds like a great idea and perfect for you. I couldn't live with this heat the way you have to in the South, I'd be happy with low to mid 80's in the summer and nothing more!

The LO you’re working on looks beautiful Dani, what a lovely photo.

Hope the new height desk helps because there’s nothing worse than backache when you’ve trying to work.

Happy Crafting!

Nice cards. love the stitching, I've got to try that. I'm just worried that it might mess up my tension on my machine. Do you have a separate one for working with paper, or does it not mess it up? Barb #31

I hope your back does better at your standing station, and it's great that you could change things out to accomadate that! Lovely cards, I hand stitch on cards, hate sewing a button on a pair of pants though, lol waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)

I scrapped standing up but tired after awhile, so I got a small desk for a sit break so I could still work.

Your cards are fabulous. I can't sew on fabric let alone paper, you rock. So nice of your hubby to create such a great space. I spied all the stamps on your back wall, you must have hundreds of them!
Have a great week.

I do love your yellow desk, but you have to do what's best physically. I have a faux Pottery Barn desk and I absolutely love it! I love standing and find it's easier to move about my room. Your cards are simply fantastic Dani! Beautiful job on the stitching, something I have such a hard time with.

Your desk and craft space look very well organised, bet it is a pleasure to work there. Good choice of papers for the spread and I love your cards, very simple and classy.
I bought the Spring DIs as well. The only ones I haven't got are the autumn colours as I have far too many earthy shades all ready.
Thanks for visiting me earlier. Bit late getting round this week as we were out all day yesterday - in the sun, would you believe.

I totally get the whole back thing - compacted L3-L4-L5 here! - but to have to stand to craft for now? Oweeee! You have my full sympathy and empathy and any other pathy you'd like to have. Nice of your DH to help you out with better furniture.

Thanks for stopping by!

It's horrible having back problems I know, I was so fortunate to be given a super duper chair that was custom made for me, still can't sit for ages but least when I do it's comfy! Great work you're doing there too. Take care, am still snooping on Thursday. Zo xx 73

Oh! Look at that grid card! Love your beautiful stitched cards! I love the look of sewing on cards but I am afraid if I get out the machine, hubby will find mending for me to do! I was having back spasms over the weekend when I sat down. I truly was trying to think of where I could craft standing up. I don't think such a place exists in my house. I can see why your hubby has to make you a place to stand at. Work surfaces for standing up at are not so easy to come by.
