WOYWW 170

Well, I have survived the start of college and hurricane Isaac all in the last two weeks. I finally have Internet back and couldn't be happier. I am still praying for those who are without power as yesterday we were in a heat advisory and it was really HOT!!!

Okay, on to better things. My desk this morning has the starts of a layout of my daughter and her best bud. Last time, I had a lot of questions about my mist storage, in the upper left corner of my desk. It is a three tiered cupcake holder that sits on an el cheapo lazy susan. I bought it during a 50% off sale so the whole thing was under $15; lazy susan included. I love that I can spin it from the front to see all of the colors.

The layout below was the one that was on my desk last time that I was struggling with. I have re-done it and still am not 100% satisfied with it, but with the help of a sketch from Shimelle, in an album it went. I think I just had too high of expectations with those photos.

Well, I hope you are all having a great week! To see more desks, pop on over to Julia's, but be warned. It's addictive!

God Bless!

Dani

My oh my it sounds like a traumatic period for you and I'm happy you got through it all ok.
Your desk looks so neat and tidy, well done! and your LO is lovely with beautiful subjects too.
Try a getting crochet hook set in a fatter handle. I got one free with Mollie Makes magazine and I find it so much easier. Love it!

It is a sweet layout, Dani!
I love the row of tags with misting and the soft title.
And looking forward to seeing what you are working on. Love those papers!
Were you without power for long?
Glad you are ok!

Gorgeous page! Love the great big desk with super handy lazy susan!

We were without power for 5 days (123 hours) after Isaac. I've never been hotter. My next Entergy bill better be really low.

Glad all is well after the storm. Your desk is so neat and organized! Love seeing it. I am new to WOYWW, I did it last week but I don't have time to visit so many blogs and comment. I felt bad.

Great looking desk Dani! Okay now you answered the questions about the mist storage what is that jar of green things that look like worms? Is that the sauce next to it? Hmmmmm... interesting things on your desk again! I think the layout with your daughter is cute nothing to be ashamed of. It is hot here too. Oklahoma and 100 in September sucks especially after it has been so hot this year already! Thanks for stopping by for a visit and leaving a nice comment. Vickie #66

I like what you did with the layout in the end - the papers are a lot softer for the subject matter! Also good to hear that you're all safe and well after Isaac has been through... Katrina was more than enough for one lifetime!

Love the storage too - I did wonder if you spun the storage too fast, would the bottles fly off but a close up inspection shows theres an edge to hold them all on. Phew! Good idea to use a Lazy Susan though!

Thanks for the kind words when you visited - much appreciated!

Oh Dani, I can’t begin to imagine what it’s like to be in the thick of a hurricane but thankfully you came though it in one piece.
Your desk is looking great this week and that storage for your misters is amazing and very ingenious.

Happy Crafting!

I didn't even have to survive a hurricane and I'm still frazzled. Your desk is looking nice and serene, you can't tell craziness has been abound. I do like the lazy susan, methinks that susan isn't that lazy. Your layout is soft and pretty.
