Halloween Cards

I wanted to create a couple of simple cards to send to my Godchildren, over the course of October. Not wanting to put too much time into each one, because I will be sending them x 3 each week, I decided to use my Silhouette to die cut shapes in multiples that I re-sized to fit the fronts of my cards.

The papers are from My Mind's Eye Blackbird collection. I had this leftover from last season and thought it was perfect for the age group I needed to cover. (10-16) On the first one, I die cut the house, sign, and bats. I trimmed the house and sign to suit my needs. The moon was just a 3 inch cut circle. I punched the fence with a Martha Stewart border punch. I inked all of the pieces with Black Soot distress ink. I like that I was able to smooth the ink out for a smokey look. I backed the house windows with yellow card stock and pop dotted it to the card for added dimension. The sign was stamped with CTMH Tiny Type acrylic stamps.

The card below was very quick to create. I added a ribbon border and topped it with a strip of the same fence punch from above. The sentiment tag was stamped using the Studio Calico Labels stamp, then punch with the matching EK Success Label punch, then the sentiment (from Purple Onion) was stamped on to the center of the label. Again, I pop dotted it for added dimension, and so that it would lie flat over the ribbon and border. I added some orange rhinestones to the ribbon for a little bling.

The inside of the top card was left blank and the bottom one says "from my house to yours", to go with the house themed paper. I love how both of these cards came out. Now, I have just two more weeks to go. Any ideas?

These are both great cards! (and like the others, I'm partial to that first one...love that house die cut!)

I'm not so in touch with what that age span is into these days...are they still into zombies? That could make a fun spooky card (?)

Love the house on the first card and how you backed the windows in yellow, looks so cool! I have a bunch of that paper left over too and have been trying to use it up this year :)
